Modify Your Epicor ERP Home Page

Our ERP consultants were excited when Epicor announced an all-new, powerfully designed active home page in version 10.2 of its ERP solution. Though the vendor has long led the field in creating robust dashboards that provide immediate insight and a user-friendly interface, Epicor outdid itself by including embedded business intelligence (BI) and a totally configurable home page. These features empower users to personalize their dashboards and gain optimal insight into business practices. 

Our blog has covered the new home page, but we didn’t spend much time on one essential element: the business activity queries, or BAQs. BAQs form the foundation of reports, dashboards and trackers in your Epicor instance. They are also the key to enabling users to access and drill into datasets. Many are pre-built in Epicor, but companies can create additional BAQs to support specific needs. In the home page, BAQs appear as tiles which users can organize to suit their daily tasks. Today, we’ll explain how to add these tiles to your home page. Let’s get started: 

1. From your home page, click the edit button in the top right-hand corner.

2. Locate the group where you want to include the new tile. Click the plus sign in the group header.

3. From the pop-up screen, choose the type of tile you want to make. For this example, we’ll choose the form option.

4. Once you make your selection, a new pop-up will display. Note that this pop-up differs based on the type of tile you selected. From this screen, you can change the color, title, company or image if you want it to differ from the default settings.

5. After you’ve made all changes, click save. 

6. Voilà—you have a new tile in the group! By clicking the three dots in the right-hand corner of the tile, you can find options to move the tile to a new group, delete it or make additional edits.
