MEUG Meeting Recap

Located in St. Louis, the Midwest Epicor Users Group (MEUG) hosts quarterly meetings where Epicor users in the region can convene to discuss the latest developments from the software vendor and learn effective tricks to gain more value from their ERP solution. Yesterday, we had another productive meeting, beginning with a demo of DocStar presented by Datix Chief Technology Officer, Mark Chinsky.  

DocStar is an enterprise content management (ECM) and AP Automation solution acquired in 2017 by Epicor. Tightly integrated with Epicor ERP, DocStar consolidates and organizes content to improve productivity and accuracy. It also automatically captures text from scanned and photographed invoices and identifies matches in your ERP.  

Mark gave us a comprehensive demonstration of DocStar, guiding us through a large range of features and capabilities, including: 

• Transfer Epicor attachments to DocStar
• Directly email documents from DocStar
• View multiple versions of documents
• Check in and check out documents
• Save documents to DocStar using printer
• Integrate DocStar with Microsoft Office or Outlook
• Access audit trail for each document
• Check status of document approvals

As usual, we concluded the meeting with a lively discussion. Paul Arthur, our Vice President of Solution Engineering, shared the latest updates from Epicor, including the vendor’s partnership with Biscit Mobile Handheld and recent acquirement of 1 EDI Source. Additionally, users had an open conversation about ERP upgrades and provided suggestions for topics in upcoming meetings. 

Datix is excited to be part of such an engaged community of software users and experts. Our next meeting is expected to take place in January 2020, and details will be announced when we get closer to the end of the year.
